Coach Baker is in his tenth year as Varsity coach at Manheim Township and his twentieth year overall with the program. Prior to assuming the varsity position, he was five years as the JV coach and five years as the Freshman B coach with Coach Gilburg. He has also coached in the Township rec and travel programs over the last fifteen years.
Coach Baker was an all league selection in high school in upstate New York. He then attended Houghton college where he graduated with a degree in history and secondary education. He was also a member of the track team. Coach furthered his education by obtaining his Masters in History from Villanova University. He is in his 20th year teaching at Manheim Township. He teaches AP Psychology and US History. He is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes advisor and sophomore class advisor.
A true Blue Chelsea FC fan, Coach Baker is married with two children - who also attend the Manheim Township schools. Together they enjoy spending time as a family enjoying the outdoors, especially hiking and biking.
Luca Grippi
Varsity Assistant Coach HS
Coach Grippi is in his 5th year of coaching at Manheim Township. Previously the goalkeeper coach, Coach Grippi is now going into his 3rd year as the assistant Varsity coach alongside head coach Kevin Baker. Outside of coaching at Township, Coach Grippi does personal training for current players, future high school players, and alumni playing in college. He is also the head coach for the Lancaster Elite 09 Girls team.
Before his time coaching at Manheim Township, he attended Alvernia University where he studied Marketing. During his time at Alvernia, he played all four years for the men's soccer program. Coach Grippi had a two year spell with Hershey FC’s NPSL team, but decided that he would like to take the coaching route.
Coach Grippi graduated high school from York Catholic and grew up playing club soccer with FC York.
Fun facts about Coach Grippi: He can speak Italian due to his family immigrating to the United States. He is a passionate fan of the Azzurri, but spends his Saturday and Sunday mornings watching his favorite Premier League team, Chelsea FC.
Wes Smith
Junior Varsity Coach - High School

Coach Smith is entering his sixth year coaching at Manheim Township. He spent two years working with the Manheim Township boys freshman team and now begins his fourth year as the boys JV coach. Prior to the Blue Streaks, Smith spent four seasons at Penn Manor in both the high school and middle school girls programs.
Originally from upstate New York, Coach Smith was a central midfielder and captain for his high school team. He continued his soccer career at Lancaster Bible College where he also obtained his degree in Health & Physical Education. Now entering his eighth year as a Health & P.E. teacher at Landis Run Intermediate School, Coach Smith also recently completed his Masters Degree is Kinesiology from McDaniel University.
Coach Smith and his wife, Jourdan, live in East Petersburg with their 3 year old son Calum and 1 year old daughter Scarlett. In his spare time, he enjoys being active, especially outdoors, and is a huge Arsenal fan. He is looking forward to working with Junior Varsity players again this fall.
Scot Gilburg

Coach Scot Gilburg is in his 24th year coaching in the boy’s Program as the Freshman coach,
and his 32nd year teaching Health and Physical Education at MT Middle School. Gilburg is also in
his 15th year as an assistant Freshman track coach where he coaches the jumpers. He’s an ‘82
graduate from Manheim Township where he played soccer and swam for the school teams. He
continued his swimming career at West Chester University, ‘87. Post college, Gilburg played in
different adult soccer leagues and has coached Club and Rec. soccer. Coach Gilburg is the father
of a 15 year old son, Finn. Both he and his son enjoy outdoor adventures and travel. Coach
Gilburg believes coaching young athletes is more than teaching techniques and tactics. He
believes the skills learned being successful as a young athlete are tools that can be utilized
throughout life. The results of hard work, the correct focus, and knowing purpose are only a
few examples learned as a young athlete that we use as adults. Coach often reminds players to
make sure they show the love of the sport in the way they perform.
Chad Crapser

Coach Chad Crapser is in his third year as an assistant freshman/middle school team coach as well as a network administrator with Manheim Township School District. He graduated from Montgomery Area High School where he captained his team his Junior and Senior years. Chad has been involved with soccer from a very young age and still actively plays in Adult recreation leagues around the area. He is very excited to share his knowledge and experience with the players to help them grow and prepare for the higher levels of competition in High School and beyond. When not playing or coaching, he enjoys spending time in nature hiking and snowboarding.
